Judges Comments:
Rich with the aroma of the sea and distinct seaweed on the nose. There is a real flavour of the sea, salty and clean with rich mineral notes coming through - this would add a different dimension to fish dishes.
A pleasing, curious glutinous texture which made it a fascinating, unique and versatile product.
Judges could imagine a thousand uses for this delicious seasoning. A huge umami hit, and an undertones of ozone, make this salty treat rather exciting.
Further seasoning wisdom:
Our wild Icelandic kelp has been collected by boat from the deep, frosty waters of Iceland’s Westfjords. This kelp is derived from wild Laminaria digitata kelp. It is collected straight from the ocean, by boats using nets and is then transported to a geothermal, carbon-neutral facility. Here it is rinsed, dried and ground.
It’s a simple and versatile nautical flavour which will intrigue your dinner guests and satisfy your salty cravings.
Due to its savoury sea salty zestiness, it can be used as a substitute in your seafood recipes. Add a pinch into your salad dressing or condiments, and a sprinkle into soups, stocks, and curries.
With it’s high iodine content, it also makes the perfect base to your healthy green smoothies.
